Farklı şekilleri nedeniyle Tip 1, Tip 2, ve Tip 3 olmak üzere üç tipe ayrıldı. Spring ligamentin ortalama genişliği 2 cm, ortalama kalınlığı iç yanda 3 mm, dış-yanda 1.5 mm bulundu.
