Abstract

The contemporary approach to tourism has embraced a more sustainable and nature-preserving outlook. In this context, green marketing signifies marketing practices that take the environment into account. Due to its interaction with the natural environment, the tourism sector should undertake the responsibility of conserving the environment and minimizing harm, which has led to the emergence of green tourism. This study aims to examine publications on "Green Tourism" and "Green Hospitality" and reveal their changes over the years, both globally and in Turkey. The study used a bibliometric approach in the Web of Science database. The findings indicate a significant increase in research related to both concepts, particularly after 2018. Conceptually, it is observed that keywords used in articles have become more associated with the concepts of green tourism supply chain, sustainable development, environmental knowledge, and hotel management in recent years. Studies conducted in Turkey show that the images of green tourism and green hospitality have garnered attention recently, and the research areas exhibit similarities with international literature.

Çalışma, Web of Science veri tabanında bibliyometrik bir yaklaşım kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Bulgular, her iki kavramla ilgili çalışmalarda, özellikle 2018'den sonra önemli bir artış olduğunu göstermektedir. Kavramsal olarak, makalelerde kullanılan anahtar kelimelerin son yıllarda yeşil turizm tedarik zinciri, sürdürülebilir kalkınma, çevresel bilgi ve otel yönetimi kavramlarıyla daha fazla ilişkilendirildiği görülmektedir. Türkiye'de yapılan çalışmalarda ise yeşil turizm ve yeşil otelcilik kavramlarının yakın zamanda dikkat çektiği, araştırma alanlarının uluslararası literatürle benzerlik taşıdığı görülmektedir.
