Abstract

The Kaʻba is the qibla to which all Muslims of the world turn in prayer and will continue to be the symbol of tawhid and the unity of Muslims until the Day of Judgment. For this reason, it is necessary to obtain healthy information about its nature. The Kaʻba is humanity's first mosque on earth. According to the narrations, after Adam was expelled from Paradise, upon meeting with Eve again, he wanted the pillar of light, which he had circumambulated around while in Paradise, to be given to him again, in order to thank Allah and then builds the Kaʻba by the order of Allah. In the time of Shit, the Kaʻba was built for the first time in the form of a building made of stone and mud. Then, in Noah's Flood, the building remained hidden under the sand for a long time. Years later, Abraham, together with his son Ismāʻīl, built the Kaʻba on the foundations of the building made by Shit, at the command of Allah. The Kaʻba, which was damaged due to various disasters over time, is then repaired before the Islamic invitation begins. It was demolished and rebuilt during the political struggles during the Umayyad period. One of the aims of this study is to explain the stages that the Kaʻba went through in the historical process. The second aim is to emphasize the meaning of the Kaʻba in the Muslim consciousness by moving from symbols. Therefore In study, description, story and analysis methods are used in accordance with the characteristics of the subject.
