Özet

Günümüz din bilimcileri başta olmak üzere, sosyal bilimcilerin üzerinde kafa yor duğu sorulardan biri şüphesiz diğer dinlerin ve inançların nasıl anlaşılması gerektiği husu sudur. Bu konu üzerine yapılmış çalışmalara baktığımızda, diğer dinlerin nasıl anlaşıldığı konusunda üç temel yaklaşımın olduğunu görmekteyiz. Bunlar, her bir dinsel geleneğin ta rihsel unsurlarını birbirleriyle karşılaştırarak aralarındaki benzerlik ve farklılıkları ortaya koymayı hedefleyen “tarihsel mukayese yöntemi”, tek bir dinsel geleneğin kişinin kendi geleneğinin tek ve mutlak doğru din olduğu noktasından hareketle diğer dinleri inceleme konusu yapan “konfessiyonal yöntem” ve dinleri kendi taraftarlarının yaşamlarında yansımasını bulduğu şekliyle, yani oldukları gibi inceleme konusu yapmayı öngören “fenomenolojiik yöntem”.
