Abstract

Objective: Schizophrenia causes serious problems in adapting to skills such as daily living skills, social relations, and communication with parents and their environment. Sedentary life, physical inactivity and drugs used in patients with schizophrenia lead to metabolic syndrome and shorten the life span. In this study, it is aimed to find answers to the frequency of physical activity in schizophrenia patients and the quality of life of this condition, its relationship with positive and negative symptoms, and its differences compared to the healthy control group. Materials and Methods: In this study, sociodemographic data form, international physical activity questionnaire, SF-36 quality of life scale were applied to the participants by the researcher. In addition, positive and negative syndrome scales were applied to the study group. The relations of these scales with each other; The differences withthe study and control groups were examined. Results: When the SF-36 quality of life scale scores of the participants were examined, it was shown that the scores of the study group were statistically significantly lower than the control group (p
