Abstract
Explaining the historical process of a science is only possible by revealing its literature and terminology development. The historical process of the science of rhetoric is also directly related to the development of its concepts. Although there have been extensive studies on the history of rhetoric in our country, the bibliographic works that reveal the formation of the terms rhetoric and naqd (literary criticism) are quite limited. In this context, 32 master's theses were analyzed and the method of these theses, the results they reached and their importance in terms of rhetoric were revealed. In the studies, it is seen that a rhetorician or literary critic is chosen and his understanding of the term and his method are analyzed in detail. However, there are also studies that deal with an art and reveal the whole process of it until it gains a conceptual structure. The structure of each term before and after the literary man, the social environment it feeds on, the problem of meaning/indication and the naming issue have been examined comparatively. In addition to these, the determination of the characteristic features of the terms rhetoric and literary criticism in each period is among the topics discussed in the theses. In this respect, this study sheds light on the issue of rhetoric terms, through which stages they have reached their present form. In addition, our study gives the researcher the opportunity to see the studies done outside his own country and to cooperate with foreign researchers based on this.

Bir ilmin tarihi sürecini açıklamak ancak onun literatür ve terminoloji gelişimini ortaya koymakla mümkündür. Belâgat ilminin tarihi süreci de kavramlarının gelişimiyle doğrudan ilişkilidir. Ülkemizde belâgat tarihi konusunda kapsamlı çalışmalar yapılmış olmakla birlikte belâgat ve nakd (edebî tenkit) terimlerinin teşekkülünü ortaya koyan bibliyografik eserler oldukça sınırlıdır. Bu çerçevede 32 adet yüksek lisans tezi tahlil edilmiş ve bu tezlerin yöntemi, ulaştıkları sonuçlar ve belâgat ilmi açısından önemi ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmalarda genellikle bir belâgatçı veya edebî tenkitçinin seçilip, onun terim anlayışının ve yönteminin ayrıntılı olarak tahlil edildiği görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte bir sanatı ele alıp, onun kavramsal bir yapı kazanıncaya kadarki bütün sürecini ortaya koyan çalışmalar da mevcuttur. Her bir terimin ele alınan edebiyatçıdan önceki ve sonraki yapısı, beslendiği sosyal çevre, anlam/delâlet sorunu ve isimlendirme meselesi mukayeseli olarak incelenmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak belâgat ve edebî tenkit terimlerinin her dönemdeki karakteristik özelliklerinin tespiti de tezlerde ele alınan konular arasındadır. Bu yönüyle çalışmamız belâgat terimlerinin hangi aşamalardan geçerek günümüzdeki formuna kavuştuğu meselesine ışık tutmaktadır. Ayrıca çalışmamız, araştırmacıya kendi ülkesi dışında yapılmış olan çalışmaları görme ve buradan hareketle yabancı araştırmacılarla işbirliği yapabilme imkanı vermektedir.
