Abstract

Familial hypokalemic periodic paralysis is an autosomal dominantly inherited congenital disease characterized by intermittent attacks of muscle weakness lasting for a few hours to a few days and occurring a few times a year or once a day. Due to he shift of potassium into muscle cells, serum potassium level is decreased during attacks and it is in the normal range between two attacks. Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis is an uncommon complication of hyperthyroidism and characterized with the attacks of hypokalemia and muscle weakness. In this article, two different male patients have hypokalemic periodic paralysis wıth familial type and thyrotoxic was presented
