Abstract

Familial Mediterranean Fever is an autosomal recessive disease characterized by recurrent and self-limiting episodes of fever, arthritis, pericarditis and peritonitis. While fever, abdominal pain and joint involvement are the main features of the disease, pericarditis have been reported in less than 1% of patients. Four patients who admitted to our hospital with complaints of recurrent fever and chest pain were diagnosed with pericarditis and Familial Mediterranean Fever. All patients complaints significantly improved after treatment with colchicine. We report here four patients presented with pericarditis as a fırst manifestation of Familial Mediterranean Fever and discussed according to the light of literature knowledge . After treatment with colchicine therapy all patients significantly improved due to the phenomenon of Familial Mediterranean fever, pericarditis, in the light of the literature, are discussed
