Sosyal hizmetin amacı, herkesin yaşam niteliğinde karşılıklı olarak doyumlu ilişkiler geliştirmesini ve sürdürmesini sağlamaktır. Sosyal hizmet müdahalesi, sosyal hizmet uzmanının sistematik değişiklikler sağlayan eylemleridir. Çok sayıda müdahale modeli içinde tıbbi tedavi modeli sorgulanmakta yeni yaklaşım ve aile sistemi kavramlaştırmaları üzerinde durulmaktadır. Bu çalışmada sosyal hizmet literatüründeki sistem kuramı ve iletişim kuramı ele alınacaktır.
