Abstract

The aim of our study was to assess the effects of moist and dry conditions on ıvound healing in mice. Moist condition ıvas provided by sterile nylon or transparent, adherent polyurethane film that transmits water vapor and oxygen. Dry condition ıvas provided by sterile gauze. In moist ıvound when compared ıvith dry ıvounds, ıvound contraction, epithelization and connective tissue regeneration ıvere faster. Thegross and histological ıvound healing models ıvere similar in ıvounds dressed ıvith steril nylon and polyurethan film. Maceration and infection ıvere observed in ıvounds dressed ıvith sterile nylon. These findings were not seen in polyurethane film
