Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between hand grip strength of male tennis, squash, table tennis and badminton players. A total of 100 male athletes participated in the study tennis (n = 25), squash (n = 25), table tennis (n = 25) and badminton (n = 25). The athletes' body lengths, body weights and Body mass indexes (BMI) were calculated, hand grip strength measurements were made, averages and standard deviations of some anthropometric features were calculated. One-way ANOVA was used for parametric tests to determine the differences between the groups when multiple groups were compared independently. The statistical analyzes used in the study were performed at 95% confidence interval, 0.05 and 0.01 error levels. SPSS 20.0 package program was used for statistical analysis of the data. As a result, although there is no statistical difference (p>0.05) between the groups, it can be said that this result is significant when considering the importance of grip strength in racket sports.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, erkek tenis, squash, masa tenisi ve badminton oyuncularının el kavrama kuvvetleri arasındaki ilişkiyi tespit etmektir. Çalışmaya tenis (n=25), squash (n=25), masa tenisi (n=25), badminton (n=25), branşlarından toplam 100 erkek sporcu katılmıştır. Sporcuların boy uzunlukları, vücut ağırlıkları alınarak, Beden Kitle İndeksi (BKİ) hesaplanmış ve el kavrama kuvveti ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan sporcuların, bazı antropometrik özelliklerine ilişkin ortalamaları, standart sapmaları hesaplanmıştır. Gruplar arasındaki farklılıklarının belirlenmesi için bağımsız ikiden çok grubun karşılaştırıldığı durumlarda parametrik testlerden Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (One Way Anova) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan istatistiksel analizler %95 güven aralığında 0.05 ve 0.01 hata düzeylerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin istatistiksel analizinde SPSS 20.0 paket program kullanılmıştır.
