Abstract

Tobacco streak virus (TSV) is a virus that can create diseases in many crops and wild plant species. This viral disease follows a special infection path and increases its infection level in parallel to temperature which gives it capacity to form an epidemy when combined with atmospheric pollen load, global warming and the presence of a wide host range. Since it has similar symptoms with blight diseases, Tobacco strike virus disease often get mistaken in diagnosis, can also persist without symptoms and results with serious loss of yields. Its ability to be transmitted by seed increases the risk of introduction of different strains of this disease by breeding material flow to Turkey from abroad. This review is prepared to present and evaluate the current status of international researches on tobacco streak virus disease in soybeans (Glycine max L.) which is the major protein crop worldwide.
