Abstract

In this study, the structural behavior of segregated and non-segregated column-beam connection regions was investigated using the finite element method. In order to simulate the segregated situation, the concrete section was narrowed and the reinforcements were removed outside the concrete section. Analyzes were carried out with the ANSYS Workbench package program, which allows the behavior of structural elements to be examined under dynamic and static loads using the Finite Element Method (FEM). Firstly, the column-beam connection region was designed in three dimensions with the sizes and reinforcement diameters used in the application. Secondly, the design was transferred to the ANSYS program and the mesh structure was created. Finally, structural loads were added to the system and finite element analysis was performed. In the analyzes, the equivalent (von-Mises) stress, strain and deformation values of the system were examined and the obtained results were compared. Obtained results are presented as figures and tables. As a result of the study, it has been shown that the calculated stress, strain and deformation values in the segregated column-beam connection region are greater than in the non-segregated connection region.
