Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of the six-hat thinking technique on the academic achievement of students in teaching elementary 7th grade science class Human and environmental unit. The study was conducted in two different classes consisting of 25 experimental and control groups girls and boys who were educated in the 7th Grade of a primary school in 2013-2014 education year. While the lesson was given to the experimental group according to the six hat thinking technique for two weeks, the lesson was given to the control group with the traditional teaching method for two weeks. According to the results of the research, it was concluded statistically that the Six Hat Concept of Thinking was more effective in the academic achievement of the students than the traditional method. In this sense, various techniques can be used to improve the academic achievement of the students.1Yrd.
