Abstract

Purpose: In this study, the feedback in the educational system was aimed to be examined based on teacher opinions. Design & Methodology: The study was carried out within the context of phenomenological design by adopting qualitative research method. Convenience sampling method was used. In this context, the participants of the study consist of 20 primary and secondary school teachers working in the central districts of Malatya and voluntarily agreed to participate in the study. The data of the study were collected with semi-structured interviews. In the analysis of the data, content analysis technique was used. Findings: It has been found that most of the participants pointed that feedback is needed in the educational processes. By most of the participants it was told that feedback should be given individually throughout the academic year and at the end of the academic year. Also it was found that most of the participants want that the feedback should be given by the "school principal". Implications & Suggestions: It is stated that the feedback in the system is insufficient. The feedback mechanism directly affects motivation and the feedback processes needs to be used actively in system and new feedback mechanisms should be formed to eliminate the deficiencies.
