Yunus Emre, Kaygusuz Abdal, Nesimi, Hacı Bayram, Pir Sultan Abdal, Abdal Musa bu konuda akla gel en ilk isimlerdir. Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu, bu gelenekten faydalanarak Cumhuriyet'ten sonra bu şiir türünü devam ettirir. Şathiyelerinde Tanrı'yı sorgular. Fakat neticede o da çoğu şairler gibi Tanrı'ya sığınmayı ihmal etmez.
