Abstract

Telenursing is considered a subset of telehealth, whichfocuses on the delivery, management and coordination of care and ser vices using telecommunications technology in the field of nursing. Inthis study, the effects of telenursing practice in nursing in Turkey the sis is made to investigate. Theses conducted between 2010 and 2018were included in the study. Theses using the National Thesis Centerdatabase and keywords such as "Telenursing", "Nurse and phone","Telehealth", "Nurse and phone-based education", "Nurse and web based education" and "Nurse and web-based counseling" It wasscreened. A total of 44 theses were reached. Ten articles that meet theinclusion criteria were evaluated. 8 of the theses included in the exam ination are patients, 1 is caregivers and 1 is adolescents and parents. Itwas stated that four of the theses included in the review were random ized controlled experimental, three were experimental, one was semi experimental, and one was a semi-experimental research design withsingle group pretest-posttest design. 7 of the theses included in the re view were used telephone, 2 were web-based, and 1 were telephoneand video conferencing. According to the findings of the study evalu ated within the scope of systematic review, telenursing interventionswere found to be effective in adapting to diseases, adapting to the op eration, increasing the quality of life, reducing stress, minimizing com plications, and reducing hospitalizations. This systematic review hasrevealed that studies examining the effect of telenursing applicationsin theses in the field of nursing are quantitatively and interventions aremostly limited to telephone application, but the effects are positive. Itis thought that the results obtained from the research will shed light onstudies on telenursing.
