Abstract

Background: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate theeffects of polishing and beverages on the color stability of threedifferent types of provisional crown materials. Methods: 48 disc-shaped (10x2 mm) samples were fabricatedfrom each auto-polymerizing temporary crown materials(Dentalon Plus, Temdent, Tempac). The samples were dividedinto 2 main groups as samples with and without polishing. Afterthe first color measurements of the samples with the colorimeterdevice (Minolta CR-300; Minolta Co, Osaka, Japan), the sampleswere immersed in three different beverages (tea, coffee andpeach juice) (n=8). Four weeks later, the second colormeasurements of the samples were made and the colordifference between the two measurements was calculated. Theresults were statistically analyzed by using Three-Way ANOVAand Tukey's HSD tests; differences among each group wereanalyzed by using t-test (p
