Abstract

A 34- year-old male patient, married for ten years, visited the Dermatology Outpatient Clinic due to lesions in his mouth and skin. The lesions were dark red-violet colored, elevated and caused no pain or itching. The patient also complained of fever, weight loss and difficulty in eating. Considering the possibility of Kaposi's sarcoma, anti-HIV test was made and found positive. The patient was then hospitalized in the Clinic of Infectious Diseases. His lesions showed regression with anti retro viral therapy.

Özet

Otuzdört yaşında, 10 yıldır evli erkek hasta ağız içinde ve vücudunda yaygın, koyu kırmızı-mor renkte, ağrısız, kaşıntısız, deriden kabarık lezyonlar nedeniyle Dermatoloji Polikliniği'ne başvurdu. Lezyonlarm Kaposi sarkomu ile uyumlu olduğunun düşünülmesi sonucu yapılan anti-HIV testi pozitif bulundu. Ateş, kilo kaybı, yemek yemede zorlanma yakınmaları da olan hasta İnfeksiyon Hastalıkları Servisi'ne yatırıldı. Hastada, Kaposi sarkomunda etyolojik ajan olduğu düşünülen HHV 8 pozitif bulundu. Antiretroviral tedavi ile hastanın lezyonları geriledi.
