Abstract

Malaria that is usually seen in tropical and subtropical areas and presents with acute paroxysmal febrile attacks is a parasitic infection caused by Plasmodium species. P. vivax malaria is usually seen in our country, but P. falciparum malaria is rare. Since P. falciparum malaria may cause fatal complications, urgent therapy is necessary. Two patients with a history of travel to Uganda where faleiparum malaria is endemic were found to have the first falciparum malaria infection seen in Malatya. :
