Abstract
The aim of the present study was to determine some hematological parameters (RBC, WBC, HCT, HGB, MCH, MCHC, MCV, and PLT), the presence and percentages of ANAE and AcP-ase positivities in leukocytes and the differential leukocyte count in Kivircik sheep. Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein of 40 (rams = 20; ewes= 20) healthy, 1-year-old sheep. MCH and MCHC values were found statistically higher in rams than ewes (p 0.05). In conclusion, our study showed that enzyme histochemical methods can be used for identifying peripheral blood cells and can provide facilitates for early diagnosis of immune system-related disorders in sheep.
