Abstract

The effects of applied force direction and glue types to the bending strength of laminated wood material produced from Brown Qak (Quercus Robur L.) were investigated in the study, veneer thickness is 2,5 mm and peeled veneer. In order to realize this aim Polyvinylacetat (PVAc) and Polyurethane (PU) glue types are preferred. In the tests, two force directions selected as being parallel and perpendicular to the glue line. According to the procedure in TS 2474, 80 samples were tested and bending strength test was applied to the glue line as perpendicular and parallel each face on the samples. The data obtained from these tests were analyzed statistically and the results were interpreted. It was determined that force direction is not effective on the bending strength but glue type is effective on the bending strength for laminated construction.
