Abstract

Glaucoma is one of the most important causes of irreversibl blindness. We present this study to compare intraocular pressure (lOP)-lowering efficacy of timolol or latanoprost monomerapy in patients with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and ocular hypertension (OHT). In this 3 months prospective, randomized study 44 patients with PAOG or OHT received either 0,5% timolol twice daily (at 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM) or 0,05% latanoprost once daily (at 09:00 AM). Change in mean diurnal IOP after 3 months of treatment was compared with baseline measurements and between groups. The mean baseline IOP level was 25,0+1,8 mmHg in timolol group (22 patients) and was 24,7±2,1 mmHg in latanoprost group (22 patients). IOP was significantly (p

Her iki ilaç da 3 aylık tedavi süresince GİB değerlerinde anlamlı derecede düşüş sağladı (p
