Abstract

Objective: In this study, we aimed to examine the Turkish validity and reliability of the Propensity to Achieve Healthy Lifestyle Scale. Methods: This methodological study was conducted with 132 patients with hypertension who were admitted to the internal medicine outpatient department of a university hospital. Data analysis was performed using content validity index, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results: The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of the scale was found to be 0.80. In the exploratory factor analysis, it is stated that the scale has a single factor structure, which explains 50.75% of the total variance. Factor loadings were between 0.45 and 0.73 in the confirmatory factor analysis. Conclusion: This study found that the Turkish version of the Propensity to Achieve Healthy Lifestyle Scale was reliable and valid for the Turkish society
