Sanayi toplumundan bilgi toplumuna geçiş sürecinde, yaşamın hemen hemen her alanında köklü değişimler meydana gelmektedir. Bu değişim sürecinin altındaki en önemli neden ise, bilişim teknolojileri alanında meydana gelen baş döndürücü hızdaki gelişmelerdir. Bu teknolojiler günlük yaşamı etkileyip değiştirdiği kadar örgütleri de etkilemekte ve değişime zorlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada bilişim toplumuna geçişte, özellikle örgütsel yapı-bilişim teknolojisi ilişkisi irdelenerek örgütsel yapıda meydana gelen değişimler vurgulanmıştır.
