Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the strategy of KWL (Know-Want-Learn) which was used in teaching process of the subject of the learning field named "Culture and Heritage" on the teaching self-regulation skills. This study was conducted with 47 students from two classes formed by 5th grade students of the secondary school in the fall semester of the 2014-2015 academic year. The research was designed on the acquisition of the skills which Zimmerman put out in the scope of the learning model based on self-regulation and carried out and it lasted six weeks. In this process, the teaching of self-regulation skills was made by providing experimental group students to fill the worksheets of the strategy of KWL (Know-Want-Learn) during lesson and after lesson. The worksheets of the strategy of KWL (Know-Want-Learn) was used as a tool for the acquisition of self-regulation skills. Self-regulation learning strategies scale was used as the data collection tool. At the end of the research, it was found that the strategy of KWL (Know-Want-Learn) was an effective tool for the students to acquire of self-regulation skills.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, K-W-L (BilİsteÖğren) stratejisinin öz-düzenleme becerilerinin öğretimine etkisini belirlemektir. Bu araştırma 2014-2015 öğretim yılı güz döneminde ortaokul 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin oluşturduğu 2 şubeden 47 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma, Zimmermanın öz-düzenlemeye dayalı öğrenme modeli kapsamında ortaya koyduğu becerileri kazandırmaya yönelik olarak tasarlanmış ve yürütülmüş olup 6 hafta sürmüştür. Araştırma, deneysel modellerden öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu modele göre desenlenmiş ve gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma için bir deney, bir de kontrol grubu oluşturulmuştur. Bu süreçte deney grubu öğrencilerinin ders içerisinde ve ders dışında K-W-L (BilİsteÖğren) stratejisi ile ilgili çalışma sayfalarını doldurmaları sağlanarak öz-düzenleme becerilerinin öğretimi yapılmıştır. K-W-L (BilİsteÖğren) stratejisi çalışma sayfaları öz-düzenleme becerilerini kazandırmada bir araç olarak kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak, öz-düzenleyici öğrenme stratejileri ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonunda KWL (Bil-İste-Öğren) stratejisinin, öğrencilerin öz-düzenleme becerilerini kazanmalarında etkili bir araç olduğu belirlenmiştir.
