Objective & Hypothesis:A 40 years old, insulin dependent diabetes female patient attended to hospital with swollen left breast, pain, and fever episodes.

Abstract

A 40 years old, insulin dependent diabetes female patient attended to hospital with swollen left breast, pain, and fever episodes. Breast ultrasonography revealed a the bacteria collection (4 cm) extending to the deep parenchyma. Salmonella Enteritidis was cultured from abscess drenage mat-teryal was sensitive to ampicillin, ampicillin/sulbactam, cefazolin, cefuro-xim, ciprofloxacin, trimethoprimsulfamethoxazole, and gentamicin. After 3 weeks therapy with ciprofloxacin, the abscess disappear completely on physical examination.

Özet

İki yıldır insüline bağımlı diabet tanısı ile takib edilen 40 yaşında kadın hasta, sol memede şişlik, ağrı, ateş yakınmaları ile hastanemize başvurmuş, yapılan meme ultrasonografısinde sol memede yoğun içerikli derin parankim planlarına uzanan koleksiyon (4cm) görülmüştür. Yapılan abse drenajı kültürlerinde Salmonella Enteritidis üretilmiştir. Antibiyotik duyarlılık testlerinde bakteri ampisilin, sulbaktam ampisilin, sefazolin, sefuroksim, siprofloksasin, trimetoprimlsulfometoksazol ve gentamisin'e hassas olduğu görülmüştür. Hastanın poliklinik takibinde 3 hafta süre ile o-ral siprofloksasin tedavisi sonrası abseye ait bir fizik muayene bulgusu saptanmamıştır
