Abstract

Aim: This study aims to investigate the attitudes towards evidencebased nursing and the perceptions of obstacles in using research of nurses working in surgical clinics. Method: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted between April and August 2017. The study comprised 186 nurses working in three different hospital surgery clinics in western Turkey. The data were collected using a Personal Information Form, Attitude Towards Evidence Based Nursing Questionnaire (AEBNQ) and The Barriers Scale (BS). Statistical analyses were performed using descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U, and Kruskal Wallis test. Results: The mean age of the nurses was 33.94±6.96 years, 85.5% were women and 62.9% worked in surgical clinics. Of the nurses, 40.3% used evidence-based practice. The mean score from the AEBNQ was 57.14±8.27 and the BS was 67.92±19.35. After examining the obstacles in using research that the nurses reported, it was found that there was not enough time to read research in the workplace (75.3%) and a lack of opportunity for nursing practice (62.4%). Conclusion: Surgical nurses' attitudes towards evidence-based nursing were positive. However, it was determined that the majority of the nurses did not have enough knowledge about evidence-based practices and did not know the resources they could use to learn evidence-based nursing practices.

Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışma cerrahi kliniklerde çalışan hemşirelerin kanıta dayalıhemşireliğe yönelik tutumları ve araştırma kullanımında algıladıklarıengellerin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapıldı.Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel türdeki bu araştırmaya Nisan- Ağustos2017 tarihleri arasında Türkiye'nin batı bölgesindeki üç hastanedecerrahi kliniklerinde çalışan 186 hemşire dahil edildi. Araştırmanın verileriKişisel Bilgi Formu, Kanıta Dayalı Hemşireliğe Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği(KDHYTÖ) ve Engeller Ölçeği (EÖ) kullanılarak toplandı. Verilertanımlayıcı istatistikler, Mann Whitney U testi, Kruskall Wallis Testi iledeğerlendirildi. Kruskal Wallis testine göre farklı grupların tespitindeçoklu karşılaştırma yöntemiyle farklılık yaratan gruplar tespit edildi.Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan hemşirelerin yaş ortalaması 33.94±6.96yıl, %85.5’i kadın ve %62.9’u cerrahi servislerinde çalışmaktadır.
