Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of organic Cr (Chromium picolinate, CrPic) supplementation at various levels on body weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio and serum concentrations of Cr, glucose, insulin and cholesterol in Japanese quail. Quails were divided into five experimental groups of 100 birds. The quails were fed either a control diet containing 995.25 ppb Cr diet or a control diet supplemented with 250, 500, 750 or 1000 ppb Cr diet. Increased supplemental Cr increased body weight gain and also improved feed efficiency (P

Özet

Bu çalışma, Japon bıldırcını rasyonlarma farklı seviyelerde ilave edilen organik krom picolinat (CrPic)'un canlı ağırlık artışı, yem tüketimi, yemden yararlanma katsayısı ve serum Cr, glukoz, insulin ve kolesterol konsantrasyonlarına etkisini tespit etmek için yapılmıştır. Toplam 500 Japon bıldırcını, her birinde 100 adet olmak üzere 5 deneme grubuna ayrılmıştır. Mısır-soya küspesine dayalı, 995.25 ppb Cr içeren, kontrol rasyonuna 0, 250, 500, 750 ve 1000 ppb seviyesinde CrPic ilave edilerek hazırlanan rasyonlar 35 gün boyunca ad libitum olarak yedirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, rasyon Cr seviyesinin artışıyla yem tüketimi etkilenmeksizin bıldırcınların canlı ağırlık artışı ve yemden yararlanma katsayıları iyileşmiştir (P
