Abstract

This article aims to determine the changes in erythrocyte Superoxide dismutase (SOD), Catalase (CAT), Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities and Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels of nematode-infected goats before and after treatment of ricobendazol. The study was conducted in 16 Kilis goats. To treat animals, the injectable form of ricobendazole (Rizal, Sanovel, 3.75 mg / kg) was applied. On the 5th day of treatment all goats were treated. Before and 5th day of treatment, blood samples of infected-goats were taken from V. Jugularis and collected into heparinized tubes. To determined SOD, CAT, GPx activities and MDA levels in Erythrocyte spectrophotometric analysis were performed. On the fifth day of treatment there was an increase in SOD activity (368.33 ± 33.29 to 416.62 ± 29), a reduction in CAT (94.34 ± 6.76 to 79.51 ± 6.07), GPx activity (4088.20 ± 516.93 to 3299 ± 446.82) and MDA levels (3.03 ± 0.31 to 2.56 ± 0.37). However, these changes were not statistically significant.

Özet

Bu çalışma, nematotlu keçilerde, tedavi öncesi ve sonrasında eritrosit Süperoksit dismutaz (SOD), Katalaz (CAT), Glutatyon peroksidaz (GPx) aktiviteleri ve Malondialdehit (MDA) düzeylerindeki değişikliklerin belirlenmesi amacı ile yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın materyalini nematot enfestasyonlu 16 Kilis keçisi oluşturdu. Antiparaziter olarak enjektabl rikobendazol (Rizal, Sanovel, 3.75 mg/kg) kullanıldı. Tedavinin 5. gününde keçilerin tamamının parazitolojik olarak iyileştiği belirlendi. Enfeste keçilerin V. jugularisinden tedavi öncesinde ve tedavi sonrası 5. günde heparinli tüplere kan alındı. Eritrosit SOD, CAT, GPx aktiviteleri ve MDA düzeyleri spektrofotometrik yöntemlerle belirlendi. Tedavi öncesine göre tedavinin beşinci gününde SOD (368,33±33,29 ile 416,62±29) aktivitesinde artış, CAT (94,34±6,76 ile 79,51±6,07) ve GPx (4088,20±516,93 ile 3299±446,82) aktivitesi ile MDA (3,03±0,31 ile 2,56±0,37) düzeylerinde ise düşüş gözlendi. Bu değişikliklerin istatistiksel olarak önemli olmadığı belirlendi.
