Abstract

In this paper, two cases with incidental foreign body aspirationare presented. Case 1: A sixteen-year-old male was admittedwith an abnormal chest X-ray detected during screening.Postero-anterior chest x-ray showed a metallic lesion on paracardiacright lower zone. Brochoscopy detected the foreignbody in right medial basal segment. It was removed with afogarty catheter. Foreign body was a metallic screw. Case 2: Asixty-one-year-old male was admitted with cough, sputum productionand dyspnea. Computed tomography of the thoraxshowed a bone-density lesion in proximal lower lobe bronchus.Fiberoptic bronchoscopy revealed a firm lesion that wascovered with granulation tissue. Foreign body was removedwith rigid bronchoscopy. It was a chicken bone. In conclusion, tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration should always betaken into consideration in the differential diagnosis of radiographiclesions or chronic respiratory symptoms that arepoorly explained, even in the absence of a previous history ofaspiration.
