Abstract

A fourteen years-old girl was admitted to the emergency department by 112 ambulances due to syncope. The patient was treated according to the syncope algorithm. Conversion was considered because initial findings were normal. In the follow-up, high fever and focal seizure were observed. Frontal sinusitis and abscess were detected in cranial magnetic resonance. In this case report, we wanted to emphasize the importance of algorithmic approach in children with syncope in the emergency department.

Özet

Ön dört yaşında kız çocuk hasta, senkop nedeniyle 112 ambulansla çocuk acil servise getirildi. Hastaya senkop algoritmasına uygun yaklaşıldı. İlk bulgular normal çıktığı için konversiyon düşünüldü. İzlemde yüksek ateş ve fokal nöbet geçirmesi nedeniyle çekilen kraniyal manyetik rezonansta frontal sinüzit ve abse saptandı. Bu olgu sunumunda acil serviste senkop nedeniyle gelen çocuk hastalarda algoritmik yaklaşımın önemi vurgulanmak istendi.
