Abstract

In this study the effects of lead, copper, mercury and cadmium heavy metals, which were applied in the form of chloride salt, on the germination and tube growth of Clivia sp pollens. Heavy metal concentrations were 30, 60, 90, 120 and 240 uM. It was found the germination and tube growth of pollens was inhibited in different rates for different metals. While cadmium had the most inhibiting effect on germination, lead had the least.
