Abstract

Amyloid goiter is very rare clinical entity due to massive amyloid infiltration of thyroid tissue, which cause diffuse or localized enlargement of the thyroid and can be confused with a neoplasm. It can be clinically asymptomatic or cause only non-specific symptoms. It is important to differentiate primary amyloid goiter from other kinds of amyloid infiltration of the thyroid. In this paper, it was presented a patient with amyloid goiter and attempted to review of the concerning literature.
