Abstract

In this study, ground waters in the borders of Bursa Transportation School Command have been examined and physicochemical and ion exchange studies have been carried out on these waters for hardness removal in laboratory conditions. In chemical treatability studies, 54% and 80% hardness removal efficiencies were determined by lime (Ca(OH)2 -250 mg/L) and soda (Na2CO3-50 mg/L), respectively. In ion exchange studies, possibilities of 100% hardness removal were observed. Determined water treatment alternative flow charts were evaluated on different approach angles, such as application possibilities of these processes in our country conditions, advantages and disadvantages of these processes and investment, operational and maintenance costs. Investment cost of chemical treatment, manual ion exchange and automatic ion exchange systems were calculated as 54 USD/m3, 52 USD/m3 and 29.6 USD/m3 respectively. 0.164 USD/m3 operational cost for chemical treatment process and 0.001 USD/m3 operational cost values for both manual and automatic ion exchange processes were determined. Consequently, in order to remove hardness from ground waters, ion exchange system could be used as a low cost treatment alternative.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, Bursa Ulaştırma Okul Komutanlığı sınırları içerisinde bulunan yeraltı suyu üzerinde, su temini amaçlı kullanım kapsamında, kimyasal arıtma ve iyon değiştirme yöntemlerinin sertlik giderimi üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır. Kimyasal arıtılabilirlik çalışmaları sonucunda, 250 mg/L kireç (Ca(OH)2) ve 50 mg/L soda (Na2CO3) dozlarında sırasıyla %54 ve %80 sertlik giderim verimleri elde edilmiştir. İyon değiştirme metodunun yeraltı suyu üzerinde uygulanması sonucu, %100 sertlik giderim veriminin mümkün olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışma kapsamında, elde edilen bulguların ülkemiz koşullarında uygulanabilirliği açısından kimyasal arıtma tesisi ve iyon değiştirici kolonlu yumuşatma tesisinin yatırım ve işletme maliyetleri hesaplanmıştır. Birim arıtılan su miktarı başına; kimyasal arıtma tesisi ilk yatırım maliyeti 54 Amerikan Doları (USD)/m3, işletme maliyeti 0,164 USD/m3,iyon değiştirici sistemin ilk yatırım maliyeti manuel sistem için 52 USD/m3, otomatik sistem için 29,6 USD/m3 ve işletme maliyetleri de her iki sistem için 0,001 USD/m3 olarak hesaplanmıştır. İlave olarak işletme kolaylığı göz önüne alındığında, iyon değiştirme metodu ile çalışan tam otomatik tandem tip su yumuşatma sisteminin kurulmasına karar verilmiştir.
