Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the effects of adding zeolite to litter on the litter moisture, ammonia concentration and broiler performance. Clinoptilolite (natural zeolite) was applied on woodshaving litter at the rate of 3 kg/m2 floor space. It was concluded that adding zeolite to litter had no effect on body weight, feed consumption, feed conversion and mortality. At 6 weeks of age litter moisture was significantly lowered when zeolite was addedin litter. Because the ammonia level of the house was found out to be very low any benefical effect of adding zeolite to litter has not been observed.

Bu çalışma ile etlik piliç yetiştiriciliğinde altlığa zeolit ilavesinin, altlık nemi, kümes içi amonyak konsantrasyonu ve etlik piliç performansı üzerine etkilerinin saptanması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla altlık materyali olarak kullanılan talaşa 3 kg/m2 düzeyinde klinoptilolit (doğal zeolit) ilave edilmiştir. Altlığa zeolit ilavesinin canlı ağırlık, yem tüketimi, yemden yararlanma ve ölüm oranı üzerine olumsuz bir etkisi olmadığı saptanmıştır. Altıncı haftada altlık nem oram zeolit ilave edilen grupta önemli düzeyde azalmıştır. Kümes içi amonyak düzeyinin çok düşük düzeylerde olması, zeolitin olumlu etkisinin görülmesini engellemiştir.
