Abstract

Geotextile reinforced retaining walls, which are formed by covering all facing elements with, geotextile reinforcements and filling materials, are widely preferred due to duration, easiness, aesthetical, and economical advantages. In this study, geotextile reinforced retaining wall having a height of 3m was modelled and instrumented with pressure cells, horizontal displacement gauges and strain gages at the field. The wall was forced to actively deform by the applied surcharge load from the top surface of the backfill. As a result of the field tests, horizontal displacements on the wall and tensile stresses on the reinforcements were tried to be determined.
