Abstract

In this study, it has been aimed at classifying of bee species according to the intersection points on the bee wings. With this aim, intersection points are specified from the wing pictures attained five different city. A basic and novel algorithm is proposed for specifying intersection points on the wings, with minimum error. 27 different features have been obtained using intersection points. After normalasing, these features have been used for classification. Support Vector Machine, Neural Networks, K-means and K-nearest Neighbour have been used as classification and clustering methods. It has been seen that the proposed method has increased the classification performance of the algorithms. The best classification performance have been obtained with Neural Networks using with 27 feature and proposed intersection specifying method.
