Abstract
Removal of chromium, which is harmful for environment, from tanning waste water liquors is the major problem. In recent years, there has been a rapid growth in the use of natural and synthetic adsorbents for removing the soluble heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions. These different adsorbents are caoline, zeolite, perlite and activated carbon. In this study adsorption of chromium on calcinated and noncalcinated hydroxyapatite is investigated.
