Abstract

Concept mapping that van he applied and evaluated İn a successful urn* in every step of education and i lis t met ion , is a contemporaiy learning and teaching method. This method which realizes comprehensive I en riling between Jim* and previous information instead of memorizing, performs to organize thinking. The main purpose of the study was to compare the effectiveness of the concept mapping-based learning and traditional physics instruction on pre-service physics tvtıchers'nclıievonent of electrostatics concepts and attitude towards electrostatics course. For this study, Electrostatics Concept Achievement Text and Electrostatics Attitude Scale were used as a measuring tools. /I preicst-posttesl control group model for .experimental method wets applied and t-test used in order to determine if there were any dijferences between the results of the pretest and posttest applied to two groups. The results revealed that concept mapping method »•o.v more effective than traditional learning method. However, there u'«.v no significant difference between the experimental and control groups for Electrostatics Attitude Test.
