Abstract
ERCP, a safe method especially in experienced hands, plays an important role in diagnosis and treatment of hepatopancreatobiliary diseases. Various complications are seen due to cannulations and manipulations. Perforations are one group of complications commonly seen after sphincterotomy. In literature, perforations of periampullary diverticula due to barotrauma are rarely reported. In this case, we discussed the clinical picture, pathogenesis and management of microperforation of a duodonal diverticulum in the 3rd portion of duodenum related to air insufflation during ERCP.
