Abstract

Effect of Hyaluronic Acid-Carboxymethylcellulose (HA-CMC) Antiadhesion Barrier on Ischémie Colonie Anastomosis: An Experimental Study Hyaluronic acid-carboxymethylcellulose (HA-CMC) have been shown to be effective agent in decreasing formation of postoperative adhesions. There are several, experimental and clinical studies with different results regarding the effects of HA-CMS on bowel, anastomosis. However, we failed to encounter any study in current literature concerning the effects of HACMS on ischémie bowel anastomosis. Thirty WistarAlbino rats were divided into three groups. In group A (control), wellpeifused distal colonie segment was transected and free ends were anastomosed. In group B, first ischémie colonie segment was prepared, then divided and anastomosed. In group C, after completion of ischémie colonie anastomosis, HA-CMS film was wrapped around anastomosis. In all groups, rats were saerified 7 days later. Anastomotic healing was assessed by measurement of bursting pressure and hydroxyproline (HP) content of anastomotic tissue. The results were evaluated by Oneway ANOVA and Post Hoc Tests. HP level was significantly higher in HA-CMS group than ischémie one (p
