Abstract

In this study, some morphometric features of freshwater shrimp population (Palaemonetes turcorum Holthuis, 1961) were examined and their length-weight relations were determined in the West Pond of Sakaryabaşı. The sex ratio (female/male) of 207 samples was calculated as 1:0.3. The average total and carapace length were determined as 2.95±0.84 cm and 0.56±0.22 cm, 3.64±0.32 cm and 0.1.02±0.39 cm cm for female, 2.64±0.81 cm and 0.60±0.45 cm for male, respectively. The highest body weight was determined as 1.10 g for females and the highest total length was observed 4.50 cm for males. The equations between weights with total lengths and carapace length sand condition factor were calculated as W=0.0107xTL2.8789 (R2=0.9121), W=0.8418xCL2.1023 (R2=0.8863), KF3=1.012±0.24 and KFb=1.474±0.64 respectively.
