Abstract

Alveolar hydatid cyst of the liver, clinically and radiologicly, imitates cancer-like hepatic mass. A 54 year old man was incidentally diagnosed as having hydatid cyst at very early phase when the cyst's diameter was about 1.5 cm and successfully treated with surgery. Diagnosis was confirmed with morphological examination by the pathologist. Post-operative adjunct medical therapy was administered. Apparent cure is obtained and no recurrence is developed, in long term follow-up.

Özet

Karaciğerin alveolar hidatik kisti klinik ve radyolojik olarak karaciğer tümörüne benzer. Kesin tanısı biyopsi ile konulabilen bu hastalık 54 yaşında bir erkek hastada insidental olarak çok erken evrede yaklaşık 1,5 cm çapta iken yakalanmış ve cerrahi tedavi ile başarılı olarak tedavi edilerek kesin patolojik tanısı konmuştur. Daha sonra medikal tedavi de eklenerek tam şifa sağlanmış ve uzun süreli takiplerinde nükse rastlanılmamıştır.
