Abstract

In this study, a total of 124 Pseudomonas strains isolated from wound and burn areas were tested for their antibiotic susceptibilities to various antibiotics. Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion technique was performed for testing antibiotic susceptibility. Of 124 Pseudomonas strains, susceptibility to ciprofloxacin was observed in 76 %, to netilmycin in 66 % and to ofloxacin in 65 %. Because the antibiotic susceptibility of a microorganism may present differences by the time and the environment, it is concluded that each hospital should perform this evaluation on a periodical basis.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, yara ve yanık enfeksiyonu materyallerinden üretilen 124 Pseudomonas susu antibiyotik direnç/iliği açısından incelenmiştir. Antibiyotik hassasiyet deneyleri Kirby-Bauer disk difüzyon yöntemi ile yapılmıştır. Elde edilen Pseudomonas suşlannın incelenen antibiyotiklerden ciprofloxacin 'e % 76, netilmycin 'e % 66 ve ofloxacin 'e % 65 oranlarında duyarlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Mikroorganizmaların antibiyotik dirençlilikleri zaman/a ve hastaneden hastaneye farklılık gösterebileceği için her hastanenin belli aralarla bu değerlendirmeleri tekrarlaması gerektiği yargısına varılmıştır.
