Objecties: This descriptie study was undertaken to determine nursing students’ knowledge and practie levels of breast self examinatin (BSE) and to explore factors that affcted these levels. Materials and Methods: The sample of the study was composed of 219 girl students who studied at a nursing school of a university located in Central Anatolia Region. To collect data, a questinnaire form was designed using the literature. The data were processed through computers. To assess the data; numbers, percentage distributins and Chi-square test were employed. Findings: It was identiid that 49.3% of the students was knowledgeable of BSE and 12.1% of these students regularly performed BSE. Nearly half of the partiipatig students knew BSE but only small number of them performed BSE. Conclusion: Some of the student’s healthy life style behaviors did not affct knowledge and practie levels of breast self examinatin (BSE).

Amaç: Tanımlayıcı türde olan bu çalışma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin Kendi Kendine Meme Muayenesi (KKMM)bilme ve uygulama durumlarını ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı.Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmanın örneklemini İç Anadolu Bölgesinde bir üniversitenin hemşirelik bölümünekayıtlı 219 kız öğrenci oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanması için araştımacılar tarafıdan literatür taranarak oluş-turulan anket formu kullanılmıştı. Verilerin bilgisayar ortamında değerlendirildi. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde sayı, yüzde dağılımları ve ki-kare test kullanıldı.Bulgular: Öğrencilerin %49.3’ünün KKMM bildiği, bu öğrencilerin de %12.1’inin düzenli olarak KKMM yaptıı saptandı. Çalışmaya katıan öğrencilerin yaklaşık yarısının KKKMM bilmekte ancak çok azı KKMM uygulamaktadır.Sonuç: Öğrencilerin bazı sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları KKMM bilme ve uygulama durumlarını etkilememektedir.
