Abstract

Robots are usually designed by inspiration from living beings in nature. Particularly, 4-legged robots are widely used in joint legged robotics. It is inspired by the behaviors of 4 legged animals in nature and various characteristics are given to robots. Many animals with four legs have the ability to stand up and even new-born walking. The physiological developments of these living beings are completed in the mother’s womb and soon after birth, bone and leg muscle groups become available It is a well-known fact that living things are able to stand up after birth and remain in balance with neurological signals transmitted from the brain to the leg muscles. According to this information it is discussed in this study, to gain the ability to stay in balance with the aid of an Artificial Neural Network(ANN) by obtaining the planar kinematics and dynamics of a 2-legged robot, which resembles a 4-legged robot. For the dynamic motion, the planar model of the robot is considered and 7-axis motion equations are obtained. It is intended that staying in the balance of the robot by standing up from the ground. It is aimed to be realized as a result of learning with the use of an artificial neural network structure. Conventional PID control method has been used for control signals that should be applied to robot joints. System responses are obtained graphically and the results are evaluated.
