Abstract

Developments in the last century around the world have caused the intensive use of fossil fuels as an energy source. The use of renewable energy sources, which areless harmful to the environment, instead of fossil fuels, which constitute an important cause of environmental problems today, is important for maintaining a healthyenvironment and human welfare. In this study, grid-connected photovoltaic energy system design was carried out in the HOMER Pro program, using the electricity consumption data of 2020 in order to meet the electricity needs of a three-storey apartment building in Osmangazi, one of the central districts of Bursa. In addition, as a result of the cost analysis of the energy system, the energy cost was calculated as 0.562 TL/kWh, and the net current cost of the system for the 25-year project life was 49405.97 TL ($ 5974.12).
