Abstract

A 2-D Multi-Resolution Wavelet Analysis is applied to the magnetic field separation problem. The advantages of this method are that it does not introduce significant distortion to the shape of the original image and is not significantly affected by the overlapping power spectra of regional and residual fields. The proposed method has been tested by using a synthetic example and has yielded satisfactory results.
