Abstract

Wild edible mushrooms grown in the natural environment have an important place in terms of both the number of species and theirnutritional value, exhibiting health-promoting properties for human beings. However, mushrooms are used as bio-indicators becausethey can accumulate many heavy metals in the soil and air. Herewith the study, some heavy metals, viz. Mn, Zn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, andCr were revealed in Chlorophyllum agaricoides, Mycenastrum corium and Paxina queletii, using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer(AAS). Also, in addition to the heavy metals, Mg content was also determined. Accordingly, minimum and maximum heavy metalconcentrations were reported. Of the analyzed metals, magnesium (Mg) was determined to be the highest mineral with a concentrationbetween 1522.1 mg/kg and 2149.612 mg/kg in all studied mushrooms samples.
